This week, quite serendipitously, all three Likes are about the number 7. Perhaps not all as drool-inducing as past Friday Likes but I couldn't resist the hepta trifecta.
7TV
There isn't a lot of information about it, but 7TV is a Russian television channel. That's as far as I got with that. What I do know is that Montreal, Quebec-based Greg Barth has created a joyful set of stop-motion idents for the channel, and they are all DIY-ily awesome. [More] Check the behind the scenes here.
Be'er Sheva
Located in the Negev dessert in the middle of Israel, Be'er Sheva is the country's — wait for it — seventh-largest city. Be'er means well (as in water well) and Sheva means seven. Working off strategy by destination specialist Shir & Spitzer, Noyman Creative Branding designed the new identity for the city, based on seven important characteristics that make up a puzzle-like icon in the shape of a 7, which also doubles as the "R" in the hebrew logo. Not totally groundbreaking in application but certainly energetic and contemporary. [More]
4seven
Launched this week, 4seven is a new channel by üher broadcaster Channel 4 in the UK. 4seven, if I understand correctly, will repeat the most popular and buzzed about shows from Channel 4's programming from the previous seven days. London-based ManvsMachine has created the logo and series of idents for the channel that build on the existing Channel 4 logo (by tacking on the 7 in perspective) and by continuing Channel 4's peekaboo motion work where the logo is barely visible. There are a couple of flavors in this new work: one, shown above, that uses an Escher-esque effect to reveal the logo and the other, that's quite the opposite, using a kind of Syfy-ish wiggly effect. Both get seven thumbs up from this guy.
